Tales of intrigue, betrayal, and revenge abound on this scavenger hunt after dark through Toronto’s most haunted places… Bring a flashlight and a steady nerve as you uncover some of prim Toronto’s grisly past.

From the mass graveyard at Yorkville to the insane asylum which now houses our esteemed members of parliament, to the residences of some of this country’s founding fathers (some of whom are still hanging around) you will seek out answers to tricky trivia questions while uncovering the spicier side of old Toronto.

FAQs

Our hosts greet players and provide teams with hunt booklets containing history, fun facts, scavenger hunt questions, and a map. They also provide you with the password to join our scavenger hunt app where you can submit your team photo and answers.
Our hosts get players in the mood and ready to play during an orientation, and then send them off! Teams then explore, track down and solve clues, seek answers and complete challenges.

At the end of the hunt, the submissions are closed, teams are scored, and a winner is declared! The winning team receives the coveted Golden Magnifying Glass.

Bloor Street near the Royal Conservatory of Music and Philosopher’s Walk.  Custom start and end locations are possible – please make your request at time of booking.
During the orientation and conclusion, one host will speak to up to 15 players at once, providing the orientation. We can run three simultaneous, but physically distant orientations at once, for a total group of 45 players.
When the games begin, participants work in teams of 3-6, and spread out along a 2 – 3 km route.
Once you have decided on the hunt you wish to book, please send an e-mail to info@urbancapers.com listing the hunt you wish to book, your requested date and time, the number of players, and your contact information.

Payment is required to complete the booking. Our event planners will then build your scavenger hunt event.
Yes, at the end of the hunt, we will present the winning team with the much coveted golden magnifying glass.

However, some groups prefer to offer additional prizes to the winning team, or even to all participants. If you wish to do so, you can simply give the prizes to our hunt hosts at the beginning of the event and they will award them to the winners at the end of the hunt.

Good shoes, an umbrella, sunscreen or snowshoes, and a phone or tablet with the GooseChase app installed (in the app stores, it looks like an orange square with white duck feet). You don’t need a Goosechase account; just choose to “play as a guest”.

In order to meet or exceed the recommendations of public health authorities and the Government of Ontario, Urban Capers Scavenger Hunts has assessed our operations and made adjustments to ensure physical distancing is achieved at all times.
Our hosts will wear masks, maintain a distance of six feet and use sanitizers.
Masking is required for orientation and the debrief since we’re gathered around listening. Masks are recommended for the entire time, though it is not required while outdoors.
Once you have purchased a ticket for an event, our people go into action, printing off materials, lining up staff for the event day, and closing off new bookings. Because of this, we do not offer refunds. However, we are happy to offer you a rain check and run your event at your next convenience.
